INCOME TAX DROP
EDUCATION MINISTER’S PREDICTION.
WELLINGTON, July 29
The Minister of Education gave a fairly definite idea of the Government's intention in regard to a reduction in income tax, when artewerinw the criticism of Mr Wilford tonight regarding the failure to disclose the Government’s policy in the Budget. . , The Hon. C. J. Parr declared that the coming reduction in the income tax would 1 bring it to a point not more than half what .it was three years ago. “I think it is probably a record for any of the Dominions,” ho said, “that in three years we have been able to bring the income tax down from 8s 9d to such a figure as is within a reasonable margin of half that amount.”-- —Special.
