HOOD DESERTERS SENT TO GAOL.
SYDNEY, Juno 10
Three deserters from the Hood were sentenced to twelve months’ gaol on a charge of stealing. It was stated tho naval authorities would deal with them after they had served their sentences.
PROPOSED FEDERAL TAXATION REFORM.
MELBOURNE, June 10
Tlie Federal 'Cabinet considered proposals for taxation reform, which it is estimated would save taxpayers £1,838,033 in the next financial year.
