Owing to the phenomenal attendance, the pavilion was kept locked until the last minute, when, the visiting breeders were first admitted by ticket. At the start of the sale the famous cow Lady Superior was led in, when it was announced that this cow had just established a world’s record for cows milked twice per clay only, and would finish up in a week’s time with a record of nearly 10001 b of butter fat, almost as much as Pretty’s Flirt, bred also by Air John Hale, which produced lOlOlb of butter-fat when milked three times daily.
