PRESIDENT ENDEAVOURS TO HEAL BREACH.
ARGENTINE AND PENSIONS LAW

V T itlf both Capital and Labor on strike, demanding the postponement of the application of the pension law, President Alveyar to-day announced the sending of a message to Congress indicating that lie intends to enforce compliance with the lay, but proposing amendments designed to meet objections to it. The chief complaint is that the law postpones, for two years, the establishment of the scheme’s benefits and meanwhile requires employers and employees- to contribute to the fund, not knowing when or in what proportion the employee will get Iris money hack. Given an assurance by the President that the Government would go to the utmost to rectify the situation in respect to the pension law, committees representing employees and employers have recommended their consitiuents to drop their protest movements. The employers have agreed to re-open the places of business on Tuesday. The workmen tonight are debating the question. A. and N.Z.O.A.
