“TO THE GALLOWS.”
RIOTS IN FRANKFURT. SOCIALISTS v. COMMUNISTS. BERLIN, July 2d. As the outcome of fierce street demonstrations at Frankfurt between Socialists and Communists, Dr. Haas, the State Attorney, was brutally murdered. The mob, passing his home, dragged Dr. Haas through the street, where he was kicked and heated to death. The mob ransacked the house of Dr. Haas’ father, who was badly maltreated. The crowd carried banners inscribed “To the gallows; with exploiters," “No justice without blood.” It also visited a. popular pleasure resort and turned out the, public. The police repelled t attempts to bre-ak into restaurants and hotels. — A. and N.Z.G.A.
