DOCKERS’ STRIKE
STRIKERS’ ACTIVE PICKETING. POLICE DISPERSE CROWDS. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, July 25. There were exciting scenes at the Royal Albert docks when thousands of strikers attempted to prevent 25 meat vans entering the docks. The police were forced back until reinforcements, who were rushed up in motor ears and lorries, succeeded in dispersing tho crowds. The vans entered tho docks by another route.—United Service.

Owing to the dock strike and the tallow sales being postponed after her departure had been twice postponed tho steamer Hobson Bay is sailing lor Australia, the Commonwealth Line announcing that as the passenger list was fully booked it had no option but to despatch her without the cargo now alongside.—A. and N.Z.C.A.
