EVERYBODY’S THEATRE.
D. AY. GRIFFITH’S “DREAM STREET” AND REALTY CONTEST The new programme screened at Everybody’s 'llioatre last evening was an excellent collection of the latest cinema successes, but the chief attraction 1 was undoubtedly the first section of the film showing the competitors in the Biogtaph beauty contest, which is dealt with elsewhere. In “Dream Street,” the latest Griffith super-production, clever use is made of the Good and the Evil spirit, portrayed by a wandering musician for the- Evil, and a dignified splendid figure as the Good.- The characters are shown struggling under the influence of ono or other as tho talc goes on. Strange scenes of’ London's Chinese underworld are shown and tho whole’ thing has the glamour and mystery of a fairy tale.. Carol Dempster, as Gipsy Fair, is beautiful and has some poignant scenes. She is a little dancer m a chorus and her love scenes with the brutal but captivating Spike McFadden arc almost fresh from the Limohouse Nights stories themselves. In .addition, fine support was ’lent to this feature in “Tfi.e First Circus,” a .clever comedy cartoon, Patlic Gazette and “Re-discov-ering French River” travel scenic. This programme will be repeated tonight. Reserved scats and day sales at Miller’s "Corner.
