Rev. A. T. Murray, of Auckland, who has been assisting in Dr. Oliver’s campaign, left for Napier by the Arahura last night.

A regrettable accident marred one of yesterday afternoon’s hockey matches on the Reserve. Miss. Quick, of Kia Toa. having to receive medical attention, as the result of an injury caused by a collision with a hall rising from the field. Miss Quick sustained a nasty gash above the eye. necessitating the insertion of several stitches, though the injury is not likely to cause any serious trouble.

The many friends of Air 0. C. Ormerod. president of the AYairoa A. and P. Society and the local branch of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union, will regret to hear that his health lias not been at all satisfactory for some time past, and lie finds it necessary to undergo a somewhat serious operation in a few days' time at Dr. Gilray's private hospital.—Star. Sir Maui Pomare, Alinister in Charge of the Cook Islands Department, and All’. J. D. Gray, secretary of the Department, will sail for Rarotonga on official business by the steamer Maunganui on Alay 22. Owing to the limited time at his disposal, the Alinister will spend only six days at Rarotonga, returning by the mail steamer Tahiti, which is due on June 9. It is now some years since the Alinister paid his last visit to the group, and there are many matters reuiring his personal attention there.—P.A.
