CAPETOWN, Feb. 23. Violence is increasing in the East and Central Rand. The campaign of intimidation is making it almost impossible to continue operations in the mines.

The Chamber of Mines intimateu to the Government that unless firm measures are taken to stop intimidat ion of those desiring to return to work, the attempt to run the mines will have to he abandoned, and the mines will he ruined.—A and N.Z. C.A.
