Sarah Bendix is suing Carl Bendix, stockbroker, of London, for a breach of promise to re-marry her. Bendix divorced bis wife in 1920 on the ground of misconduct with a ehaffeur. Counsel stated that Bendix afterwards re-courted her, proposed marriage, and lived with her. He told her that she would get a surprise on her birthday. He telephoned her on that clay, remarking: “This is my surprise": Will you marry me?” She consented. The wedding was arranged but postponed. Six days Later Bendix married an actress.
