During the trip of the mail steamer Narkunda from London to Australia, on the morning cf January 30, Sir Hilton Ralph Brisco was missed. FJe was a most popular passenger, and his disappearance from the ship caused consternation. The whole vessel was searched, but no trace of him was discovered.

After leaving Bombay. Sir Hilton Brisco was ill; that was on January 27 and 28, and he remained in his cabin. But on the morning of January 29 he rose and had breakfast, saying that he felt much better. He was about the deck all day, and appeared to he in Ills customary good spirits. He dressed for dinner, and made a hearty meal. Then he went on deck and talked with several acnuaintances. He was not seen again. On the morning of January 30 his bedroom steward found his hunk undisturbed. The matter was reported to the officers, and a search was then made. The vessel arrived at Colombo the same day, and the disappearance was reported to the police. His friends are mystified at Sir Hilton’s disappearance, and scout the idea of suicide, saying that he gave no indication of any intention to take his life.
