The following transactions have been received through Mr. 110 Lissant Clayton :

HOME WOOL SALES. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London house: "Sales closed.: crossbred fine, best description advanced 5 per cent; other descriptions, market showed no material change.”

WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., .Ltd., have received the following cable from their London office: —“The wool sales closed with little animation; of 90.000 bales offered only about one half were sold. As compared with the closing rates of the last .sales good greasy merino combings were 5 per cent lower; merinos of other descriptions 10 per cent lower; inferior and faulty merinos were mostly withdrawn. The prices for good greasy comeback wools were slightly higher. Greasy crossbreds fine quality were par to 5 per cent lower; greasy crossbreds medium quality 5 per cent lower; greasy coarse crossbreds were neglected; also crossbreds inferior and faulty were neglected and largely withdrawn. Tlie scoured and slipe crossbred wools were largely withdrawn. Greasy crossbred super fine and light were 5 per cent higher.”

CHEIicTCHUECH, July 14, At Addington makot, to-day the yardings were smaller than usual in all classes excepting fat cattle. There was an advance in store sheep and cattle prices, and fat. sheep reached the highest values since last season. Store sheep: Values were about two shillings a head in advance of last weeks quotations. Wether hoggets realised 27s ]Oil to 28s 3d; mixed sex hoggets, 24s 6d to 28s; ewe hoggets, 28s Id to 28s (>cl; cull hoggets, 16s 3d to 19s 3d; fairly good 2,4, 6, and 8-tooth ewes, in lamb, 36s 6d; inferior ditto, 18s to 245; aged ewes, 16s to 22s 6d; five-year-old ewes, in lamb, to 295; 4-tooth wethers, 33s 6d; inferior 2 and 1-tooth wethers, 27s 6d.

Fat sheep: The smallest yarding of the season and the presence of several country butchers stimulatd competit on. The market- jumped for prime quality mutton by 6s to 8s a head, and in cases brought near lid per lb. Extra prime wethers, 57s 6d to 6Ss (id; prime wethers. 47s 6d to 565; medium wethers, 12s to 455; lighter wethers, 33s 6d to 40s; extra prime ewes. 54s to 67s Gd; prime ewes, 45s to 52s 6d; medium ewes 37s 6d to 13s Gd; light and unfinished ewes. 26s 6d to 365; extra prime hoggets. 43s lOd; prime hoggets 31s Od to 375; lighter hoggets, 26s to 31s. Eat cattle: The yarding comprised 337 head. Last week’s values were maintained throughout. Extra prime steers, to £37 ss; prime steers, £22 to £2B 15s; medium steers, £l6 to £2l; light and unfinished. £l2 12s to £ls 10s; prime heifers, £l3 15s to £l6 4s; medium £lO to £l3 10s. Vealers were in short supply, and there was a good demand for prime quality. Runners made to £9 12s 6d; good vealers, £6 17s 6d; medium, £4; inferior, £1 10s; newlydropped calves 6s. Store cattle: A small yarding, the market showing a decided improvement. Forward 4 and 5-.vear steers, to £ls 6s; '3-year steers. £l2 10s; 21 ti)3-vear heifers, £8 10s to £9 ss; rising 2-year-old heifers, £5 to £6. Dairy cattle: Cows near profit sold readily. Good heifers, to £2l ss; springing heifers. £11: second calvers, £l3 15s; small and inferior. £9.

Eat pigs: A keen demand. Choppers, £5 10s to £9 10s; heavy baconers. £7 5s to £8 9s (average price per lb, lid): heavy porkers. £5 to £5 15s; light porkers, £1 5s to £■! 15s (average price per lb. Is Id to 1s 2d).

Store pigs: A strong demand and an advance on recent values. Best stores. £4 7s Gd to £4 tfis; medium, £3 15s to £4 os; small. £2 3s to £2 13s; weaners, £1 Is to £1 13s.
