CHRISTCHURCH ROLL FOR SUNDAY.

CHRISTCHURCH July 19. A series of motor-car accidents occurred yesterday. As the result of a collision , on the Lohnrn-Ashley road between a car and a motor-cycle Lawrence Doyle, a returned soldier, riding the cycle, suffered the loss of his right leg. The car struck him on the leg, which was broken in three places. Doyle was removed to the Christchurch hospital, where the limb was amputated. Another collision occurred on the Eiccarton Road between a car and a motor-cycle, and resulted in the driver of the cycle and his companion being injured, the former having his leg fractured and the latter a collar-hone broken. A third car bicycle accident occurred on the Ferry road. jt. Daniell. on the staff of the milii-iry hospital, was driving a car, and in endeavoring to avoid a motor-cyclo ran into a telegraph pole. He was cut about and bruised and rendered unconscious for a time and the other occupants were also cut and bruised. The cycle struck the car, and was smashed, but the driver and tuo ladies in a side-car all escaped, except for minor injuries.—Press Assn.
