EXPERIMENTS IN RAILWAY UNIFICATION.
NEW SCHEAIE OF COLLECTING FEDERAL TAXES FAVORED.'

The Premiers’ Conference having reached a deadlock over tin* railway unification proposal, decided upon an extension of the Toeunwal-Finland railway with a view to testing whether the third rail device’ is safely applicable to the lines, the cost of the experiment, between .25000 and £IO,OOO, to be borne on a per capita basis among the participants. The conference favored a substantial unification on tlie machinery for the collection of Federal State taxes m place of the present separate collections. —U.P.A,.
