Mr Cliitlm Mackenzie, wrote aoxnowlodging the decision of the local Defence Committee in regard to tlie scheme for the after care ot bunded soldiers. Mr Mackenzie aNo advised that he had written to the Advisory Board in Wellington asking that t-.njy should decide the quota to bo subscribed by each Association and that lie was desirous of having the Board s advice and suggestions before making final arrangement? for the establishment of the Fund. —The letter was received. jThe number of cases dealt with ov the Claims Board for itl'.c fort-mg fit ending July 19 was reported to Le 70. The amount author; ted othjer soeie-t : es to pay Gisborne was £l4 8s fid, whilst the'total amount paid ojut per imprest- was £74 7s lid. ! An account for the sum of £2O ps, due to the Cook Hospital for extras supplied to soldiers was passed for payment.
