DECREASE OF CASES IN CANTERBURY. Press Association Telegram. CHRISTCHURCH. April 26. ‘‘Taking it on the whole, the position seems to be easing,” was the comment of the District Health Officer to a reporter when qiiestioned this morning regarding the influenza epidemic. " “For two days, that is the period from noon on Saturday till noon to-day the notifications have been practically the same as for one day previously.” » WELLINGTON HEALTH DISTRICT 257 CASES DURING WEEK. Press Association Telegram. WELLINGTON. April 26. During the week ended noon today, 341 cases of infectious disease were reported in the Wellington Public Health district, an increase of 103 compared with the preyisous week. Tlie number of cases xof influenza notified was 287—70 more than during the week ended April 19. Twelve of the cases were of the pneumonic type, but the remainder are classified as mild.
