THE ROSARY.
The threatening weather prevented a. considerable number of people from attending the Opera House last night, when J. and N. Tait’s company presented “The Rosary.”’ There is not a. shadow of doubt but that if people generally had only realised the splendid manner in which the life of Father Kelly was interpreted a crowded house would have been the order of the evening, despite the inclement weather. .The loud and continued applause which greeted the performance is an indication that an oven more enthusiastic reception will be accorded the company on its next, tour. All the artists acquitted themselves admirably, and the l&'u. act was particularly well staged. The emotional parts in this act arc very difficult of interpretation, and the able manner in which the touching scenes were played was much appreciated. The company leaves for Napier by the Araliura to-night, and after playing at Hastings and other places will appear in Wellington in November.
