CONFERENCE AT WELLINGTON. Press Association TelegramAVELLINGTON. July 24. A conference was held yesterday and to-day between representatives Or the butter-makers and the-Minis-ters for Agriculture agd Imperial Supplies with reference t?> the isation fund for butter-producers. Air A Morton, chairman of the Do#iiiiion Jlutter • Committee, states that tlie equalisation fund is now in a fair way to be established, whereby producers who have exported and those supplying the, ( local market will participate. " ) It- is expected that finality will shortly he reached. Air. Alorton points out that the contract with the Imperial Government for the sale of export butter expires on July 31, and) subsequent arrangements will be subject to the establishment of the equalisation fund. which, AJr. Alorton says, should dispel any anxiety as to local prices for butter not being maintained/ at the present rate.
