MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.
The weekly meeting of the Management Committee was held last night at the Training Shed, the follow ino- members being present: 'Messrs A H. Steele, E. Featon. J. O’Neill. P. Edmondson. F- WoodbeiTY. Wi Friday, and J. C. E. Turner (bon. secretary). Mr. Robins, on behalf of the Huia Club, was also present. In the absence of the chairman (Mr. W. Howard), who is in Napier, Mr. Steele was voted to the chair. . . The secretary’s action in altering the Third' Grade fixture on Saturday last to fit in with the Waerenga-a-hika College holidays was approved. A lengthy letter from the N.Z. Rugby Union, dealing with professionalism, was read, and after n short discussion received. ■ An account for insurance fees op training shed with the South Brit’-sn. Co. was passed for payment. Mr. Heron. Rugby referee, attended the meeting in connection with ordering off a member of the Kaiti City B~tcam on Saturday, June Ist. for alleged tripping. After hearing the evidence of the referee it was decided 1 to suspend the. offending plaver for three weeks from June 1 • The meeting expressed its sympathy with the captain of the Kaiti City A team, Douglas Stevenson, who was so unfortunate as to break his leg during the progress of -*> match on Saturday last. As only very short spells were played in th-a match in question, which was be tween Kaiti-City A and B team, it
was decided that the game should' be re-played on a date to he arranged later in the season. _ Players were registered for Huia and Kaiti-City clubs, subject to their fulfilling the necessary regulations, A vote of thanks was passed to Mr S. S. Dean for the ready assistance he has given on several occasions when accidents have occurred on tbe ground, his help being particularly valuable during the accident lest Saturday.
The secretary of the Union was instructed to obtain a supply ‘J necessary bandages, splints, etc , to be kept on the ground for n«e in the case of an accident. The following fixtures were arranged for'next Saturday:— —Seniors— Kaiti-City A v. Huia, No, 1 ground, 3 p.m. Referee, Mr. Heron. Kaiti-City B v. High School, No. 2 ground, 3 p.m. Referee. Mr. J. Reidy. —Thirds— Kaiti-City v. United. No. 1 ground, 1.30 p.m. Referee, Mr. Ingram. Waerenga-n-hika College v. High Schoo] A, No. 2 grofind, 1.30 p.m. Referee, Mr. J. Corbett. High School B, a bye.
