WELLINGTON, June 7. The hearing of tire dispute filed by the Tailors’ Union was commenced Ihi fore the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr Ivaggcr) to-day Mr AV. Grenfell (agent for the emplovers) applied for an adjournment‘in order that employers at Auckland and AVellington might confer He recognised that any awaid made would be converted into a Dominion award. \ , r ~ Mr AI. Mr Doherty stated that he had merely given an interview explaining the general ideas in the minds of the emplovers, though he spoke only foi , The Commissioner: Don’t you see it. would he likely to prejudice a settlement. Suppose every employei did the same tiling! . Mr Doherty said he had simply shown how the men’s wages could be increased. , . ~ , After further discussion the healing was adjourned till July 24.
