I shall take an early opportunity of addressing the Electors and placing before you mv views on the several important matters connected with the ruture progress of the Borough. Soliciting the favor of your continued support and confidence, I have the honor to be, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, W. G. SHERRATT.

T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN I again offer my services in your interests for a further term of office at the forthcoming elections on the 25th hist. I have striven to do my best during the period, against adverse ideas, since I have been in the Council, and will continue to do my best, if you may see fit to give me another opportunity to endeavor to complete the following reforms, which are urgently needed by the people of Gisborne, and which can only be accomI plished by a majority of those in favor of such reforms, and which lay in your hands: — 1. A means whereby cheap meat can bo obtained for the burgesses of Gisborne by municipal control, through experts at the business, without interference from the Council, and that immediate steps he taken by the incoming Council to have regulations, etc., submitted to the Government for approval (if the Municipal Corporations Act ‘ does not already confer that right) by the Government, and that a sum of money he placed on this year’s estimates by the incoming Council for the purpose. 2. Municipal fresh and pure milk supply for the health of children. 3. That the Council approach the Government, with a view to starting to improve the health conditions of Gisborne, by having all the residents inoculated against typhoid: fever, such a s is being done in tlm British and Allied Armies; the Government to he asked to supply the typhoid and para typhoid vaccines free of cost. If tlie cos per capita was £1 Is, it is far raoio preferable than paying doctors expenses, say £IOO, or possibly losing one’s life, besides reducing local hospital expenses, through IT * a . n .' cases being sent there, and which I contend could bo prevented' by my suggestion. 4. Rushing on the trams all over the borough immediately, as i sanctioned by the burgesses, 'and generally observing the requirements for tlie welfare of the town of Gisborne. * In particular I ask you to vote for. me. Yours, etc., 11. E. HILL.
