LOSSES STILL SERIOUS. United Press Association—Copyright. MELBOURNE, Feb. 14. The annual report of the Postmas-ter-General’s Department shows that the Post Office in the past financial year made a profit or £2O/,901, as compared with a deficit of £141,6-53 during the previous year. This doe 3 not include interest. Allowing for this, there was a net loss of £315,990, as compared with £629,732 for the previous year. The earnings of tie Department totalled £5,049,569, an. increase of £429,507. By standardising certain supplies and other economies a large further decrease in expenditure is anticipated. •
