BIG SCENES OF FILM PLAY.

STORIES 'OF “CABIRIA.” Apart altogether from the tact that “'Cabiria,” the famous historical film play which is to be screened at the Opera House, cost more and employed more people for a longer time than any other picture play ever made, there are a few mechanical reasons which explain in some measure its superiority over other biograph dramas. In “Cabiria” is used for the first time the stereoscopic method patented by the Itala Film Company. Tliis enables scenes of extraordinary depth to be photographed with lifelike clearness. At the same time a system of photography which enables the camera to ho moved backwards and forwards across a scene was employed for the first time. This gives breadth and completeness to scenes which must otherwise have seemed narrow' and unconvincing. Great crowds and wide areas of country are shown in “Cabiria” with astounding clearness thanks to these two new assistants of the biograph men.
