GERMANY SHOWS NEUTRALS "HAPPY" BELGIUM. The Danish Socialist- organ, the ‘ 'Social Dom okra ten.' aiuiouneino; the visit- of the Scandinavian Socialist delegates to occupied Belgium so loudly proclaimed by the V oil! Bureau, reveals a characiensiie manoeuiie ot German methods of propaganda.
Not only were the delegates conducted by German guides..whose auty it was to "stage manage the tour, but the German authorities also took the precaution to distribute by telegraph. through Wolfi Bureau, the impressions of the delegates while their tour was in progress. Thus a Wolff telegram reporting on the excursion to Louvain added that the delegates had witnessed the “happy life led by the Belgian population in the environs of Brussels.” The impudence oi this piece of. news was such that the “Politika ’ ot Copenhagen, did not hesitate to denounce such proceedings, and expressed regreat that, the German propaganda did not allow the delegates to express their own impressions of the tour. Now the ‘ ‘Social Demokraten” in its report announces that the delegates decline to accept any responsibility for the Wolff communiques, and state that they never spoke of the “happv.life led’bv the Belgian population.”"
