A large number of citizens assembled this afternoon at the Public Library to take part in the formal presentation of the McNab Collection to the City of Dunedin. In course of Mr McNab’s research work concerning the early history of New Zealand, lie has collected a valuable library containing almost 3000 volumes, and this lie has handed over to the public library for the benefit of the people of New Zealand and visitors from other parts. 11l explaining his reasons for choosing the Dunedin library ?s the respository of the collection, Mr McNab said Dunedin was the home of his old University, and here alone would her future students be able to take advantage of it. When a chair of Australasian and Polynesian History came to bo established the fact that both the Hocken collection and his collection were available in Dunedin would be two reasons for that Chair going to the University of Otago.
