Iho billiard match between the above players, in which Mr Lucas was in receipt of 300 in 750, attracted a very large gathering to the Alhambra Club, Peel Street, on aSturday night. Tho professional prov d the winner, hut only by tho narrow margin of 69 after an exceedingly close contest.. After the match the visitor gave a truly marvellous exhibdtihn of trick and fancy strokes, an'd was accorded an enthusiastic reception. This made Taylor’s fourth exhibition in Gisiborne, having also met and defeated Mr A. E. Warren on two occasions at tho Poverty Bay and Gisborne Clubs, Taylor conceding 250 in 750.
