Mr Scotland made a successful ascent in his Caudron biplane from theAddington Show grounds yesterday afternoon in the presence of 4000 people. Allen, white in Christchurch yesterday, visited the camp at Ripa Island and in the afternoon attended a garden party at Opawa at which Mr J. H. Howell, director of the Christchurch Technical College,, was farewellod prior to leaving on a trip to England. Mr Allen eulogised the work doneby the Board of Governors of the Technical College and expressed high praise of the Board’s girls’ hostel, which he visited earlier in the day.
