UNKNOWN MAN’S END.
TRAGEDY ON THE MAIEOA ROAD. At about 4 o’clock yesterday morning Senior-Sergeant Hutton received advice by telephone from Air. Hilton Lysnar that an old man, a "swaggie,” name unknown, had died on the Wniroa road early in the morning. The man went into the roadman’s whare this side of Earakanapa and took suddenly ill and d ed. His identity was unknown last evening, but it was believed that lie came Rom Wairoa, although nobody at hand knew his name. The body was removed to Patutahi by Constable Maloney, and an inquest will be held t-o-dav before Mr. Matt, J.P. In the meantime the police photographed the body, so that identity might be established at a later date, if no one recognises the body for the present. A post-mbrtom will probablv he carried out.
