CENTENARY CELEBRATION 3
FESTIVITIES IN MANY CENTRES. CHAIN OF 100 BONFIRES. ; [UNITED PEES 3 ASSOCIATION— COPXIIIGH f.J (Received May 28, 9.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 28. The Blue Mountains centenary celebrations were held in gkueous weather, and various mountain centres wer© gaily decorated. The principal locality for the festivities was Mt. Victoria, where Sir Gerald Strickland (Governor) dedicated Victoria Park, and then proceeded to Mount York, where he unveiled a memorial tablet on a pavilion erected in honor of Blaxland, Wentworth, and _ Lawson, the three pioneers who discovered the route across the mountains.
The proceedings to-night include the lighting of bonfires on 100 points, from Orange to Prospect.
