REGENT MAYORAL ELECTION.
UNSUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE CONGRATULATES MR. KIRK. “I was very pleased.” said Mr. .1F. Sheridan to a “Times” reporter yesterday, “to see that Mr. Kirk was elected to the position of Mayor, and although I have not- had the opportunity to person a 1 ly congratulate him. I intend to do so at the earliest moment. I wish to compliment him on the businesslike manner in which he has already tackled the municipal problems.” “During the elections.” continued Mr. Sheridan, “I was very ill with throat trouble, but, of course, I did not want to cause my family any unnecessary alarm, and I eouM not retire from the contest on principle, after being nominated.”
