REFEREES FOR THIS .WEEK'S FIXTURES. At the week!y meeting of the Poverty Ray Rugby Union held last evening there we're present Messrs W. Hay (chairman), Pudney, Burge, ZV£cMabon, McGill, Brown, Dean, and Wallace (hen. secretary). Messrs. Reedy and Mersoh were ejected members of the Association. The following appointments were made for this week's fixtures: — THURSDAY. St. Patrick's v. Gisborne, 3 p.ni_— Mr. W R. Burge. SATURDAY. ■—Senior.— United v. Y.M.P.. No. I—Mr Olsen. Garrison v_ Kaiti-City, No. 2—Mr Brown. —Junior.— Garrison A v. Garrison B, No. 1, 1.45 p.rn.—Mr. Turner. United v. Y.M.P., No. 2, I.4o—Mr. Somervell. Kaiti-City v. Matawhero, Reserve, 3 p.rn.—Mr. Hay. SCHOOL MATCHES. At 10.30 a.m. Gisborne v. Mangapapa. No. 2—Mr. Howard. Kaiti v. Convent, No. I—Mr. Merson. Makar aka v, Te Ha par a, Reserve— Mr. Burge. It was decided that all referees in future inflict the major penalty in all cases where players fail to immediately put. the ball down in front of them on being tackled.
