Allen Main was committed for trial for murdering Mr Ooverton, the proprietor of the Tyno Loundry at Manly, after a deadly struggle while Main was alleged to bo burgling Mr Overton’s premises. In a Statement to tho nolice Main declared that he fired the first shot to frighten Mr Overton, and had not intended to hit him. .--The second shot was fired when Overton was holdin" him down. Ho intended to hit him on the arm. Ho handed over the stolen jewellery at the time of his arrest,.
