SUMMARY AND FORECAST. CPEB PRESS & BSOCXATION. J WELLINGTON, August 11. The Meteorological Office to-night issued the following weather summary and forecast: The barometer has fallen slightly, . with moderate to strong westerly winds generally, but squally in Foveaux Strait. Rain has fallen in many parts of the West Coast of both Islands, and cool and changeable weather has prevailed. Present indications are for moderate to strong westerly and southerly winds, squally at times in Cook and Foveaux Straits. 'Changeable and showery conditions are probable generally. The barometric pressure is unsteady, but with a rising tendency soon.
