(Received Anril 1, 12.20 1 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 31. The Maheno encountered a heavy south-west gale, which was at its height on Thursday, when she was struck by tremendous seas, which cjpmagetl deck fittings, smashed a dozen cabin windows and flooded the smoking room, social hall and 1 alley-way. The passengers were knee-deep in water. A family of three, a man, woman and child, were rather severely cut by falling glass.
