MULQUEEN-TURNBULL
A quiet hut pretty wedding was celebrated .on the afternoon of Sunday. June 16th, at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Chinch, Hamilton, bv the Rev. Father McManus, the contracting parties being Mr. John Francis Miilqueen, of Balfour, Southland, md Miss Violet Mary Turnbull, of Auckland. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, looked charming in a dainty white silk "own, trimmed with accordeon-pleated chiffon and orange blossoms. She wore a handsome wreath of orange blossoms and a tulle veil, and carried*a beautiful shower bouquet of white cosmos. The bride was attended by Miss N. White (chief bridesmaid) and Miss J. Chattel-toil, who both wore prettv gowns of sea-green silk and hats to match, and carried shower bouquets of white cosmos. The Little Flower Gill (Miss Dorothy. MeGonagle) wore a pretty white silk frock anil Duchess bonnet, and carried a baskot of beautiful. flowers. Mr. A. Sliwasli acted in the capacity of best man. The bridegroom's present to the bride was n diamond and sapphire ring, and to the bridesmaids gold brooches. After the ceremony a number of relations and friends returned to the residence of the bride’s cousin, where a sumptuous breakfast was partaker, of. The presents were numerous and useful. 1 lie happy couple left amid showers ot rice and good wishes. Tlie honeymoon is to be spent at Te Arolia. iho bride’s travelling dress was a pretty blue satin cloth costume, with cream silk and lace vest, and a prettv white felt hat.
