Sydney, May 14. Dotaila of tho Formoaan oatthqueko ahow— Eleven hundred ond six people woro killed. Eigbtoon hundred und sixty-two wero wounded. Three Ihouaand eight hundred and thirty-two houaea woro deetroyed. Two thousand one hundred and twentyone houaoa woro partially doatroyed. Early on tho morning cf March 17th tho inhabitants near Kagi were startled by several alight Bhooks, followed by a sevoro one, aooompanied by subterranean explosions. Tho shocks continued at intervals of five to ton minutes all days. They continued through the day following, and abated on the nineteenth. Tho devastated area is about thirty square miles, Tho eurfaco iB much cracked in all directions, and wuter spurted up several feet.
In some partß the land subsided and lakes formed, and in other placos exadiDg thud formed hillocks.
