London, May 12. Mr Tavctnsr, giving evidence before the Butter Committee, advocated Ibe stoppage of all manipulation, making, milk blending, or addition of foreign fats. He would make it a serious offence, punishable by imprisonment a second time. He advocated prohibition of blending colonial with pure English or crist butter, although aware that the latgett proportion of V dorian butter now sold was blended. \:ct rims would prefer butter sold hcnestly for what it was, He would Ike to see all butter ia ritail shops marked with tho country of origin, Mr Cameron, Now Zealand Prodooe Commissicnsr, testified that his Government advocated prohibition of bUniing He did not fear that tade would decline if blendiDg were stopped.
