The Times says the Privy Gonncil’s judgment is a severe, if unooneoious, irony on the House of Commons proceedings. The Times emphasises tho faot that all the most authoritative Commonwealth newspapers condemn the Government’s interference in Natal.
Pietermaritzburg, April 3.
After the executions Colonel Royston addressed ths ohiefs, driving home the lesson of Ihe terrible scene, warning them if there was a recurrence of trouble all would be punished for disobedience. The supreme chief subsequently attended a nesting of whites, held to demand the removal of Mr Gilson, the Magistrate in Zululand, owing to bis attitude on the native question, and opposition to the executions.
MejoDgive, headman, and Hunt's murderers, are in gaol ill, with two ethers. Their sentences have been deferred, There are aleo thirteen oondemoed to death for offences in the] southern part of the oolooy.
