GREAT VICTORY FOR TOGO.

BATTLE FOUGHT ON HIGH SEA

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Received 11.46 p.m., May 29. London,' May 29. It is reported at Tokio that four Russian warships, possibly Admiral Roshdestvensky’s light cruisers, passed through the Kurile Straits, steaming westward, oh the 25th.

A private telegram received at Berlin via Chifu states that one of Admiral Roshdestvensky’s ships proceeded to Kiaochau on Friday, badly damaged in a collision. It adds that Admiral Roshdestvensky began to force a passage on each side of ■Tsushima, without lights, on Saturday night. Heavy firing was heard between 9 and 10 at night. The Times’ Tokio correspondent reports that tho battle was fought iu a strong breeze on a high sea. A private telegram received in a high quarter in London reports that the battle resulted in a great victory for Admiral Togo.
