Tho Stratford District Health Officer to day interviewed tho County Council, endeavoring to arrange with the Council to join tho other Taranaki local bodies to appoint a sanitary inspector for the district. Tho Council declined to contributo a quota of £57 per annum. All tho other bodies favor the proposal. ABATTOIRS. A loan of £SOOO for abattoirs, rejected by the ratepayers, will bo raised by tho City Council.
