At tho wool sales, 176,000 bales were catalogued; 97,400 were sold for the Homo market, 61,000 for tho Continental, 7000 for tho American, and 26,500 were held. Compared with July, tho sales were good. Greasy merinos closed 10 per cent, to the good; scoureds, 5 ; New Zealand scoureds, par to 5 per cent, higher. Faulty merinos were unchanged. Occasionally buyers favor fine greasy crossbreds. Crossed were 71 per cent, better ; medium, 10 ; coarse, par to 5 por cent. Lambs’ wool was from 5 to 10 per cent, higher. The Hinerua clip sold at 4 5-Bd, and the Gear clip at s£d.
