THE PRESIDENT’S APPEAL.

The coal companies are providing elevated railroads, schools, end hospitals in New York with sufficient coal, also tho poor with small quantities at low prices. Tho counsel given by President Roosevelt at to-day’s conference to discuss the strike will be limited to an appeal on humanitarian considerations,he having no powers of compulsion.
