By Telegraph—Press Association. (Telephoned from Napier.) Palmerston North, last night. At a public meeting held here to-night, arrangements were made for canvassing the district for funds for the Veterans’ Home, and a substantial sum is expected. Wellington, last night. A deputation from the Tailors’ and Tailorosses’ Conference waited upon the Hon. Hall-Jones, and placed before him resolutions in regard to the establishing of a Stato clothing factory at Auckland; also to make binding in Auckland the award subscribed to in other centres. A deputation representing small tailors desired Ministers to stop the practice of travellers who take chart measurements in country districts and have the suits made up in factories. The Minister promised to give the matters consideration.
