DEATH OF POLICE INSPECTOR FLANNAGAN
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 28. Police Inspector Michael Flanagan, who served in Auckland from 1921 to 1939, died in Auckland on Saturday at the age of 72 years. He was born in Timaru and joined the Police Force in 1906. He came to Auckland as a sergeant from Rawene in 1921 and in 1939 was appointed to take charge of the 'Timaru police district as an inspector. He retired in 1944 and returned to live in Auckland. Inspector Flanagan is survived by Mrs. Flanagan and four daughters and two sons. One of the sons is Dr. J. J. Flanagan. The other is Constable Michael Flanagan. Both reside in Auckland.
