U.K. Not Supplying Strategic Materials
(11 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 27. The Minister of Overseas Trade. Mr. Bottomley, said today Britain was withholding all vital strategic material in trading with the Soviet Union. Commenting on Mr. Churchill s radio statement last night that British firms are supplying Russia with machine tools of a class required for tank manufacture, Mr. Bottomley said: "In supplying goods to Russia, Britain has been careful to withhold any commodities which come into the category of strategic priority.”
