Washbrook And Warr To Join M.C.C. Team
(10 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 27. Invitations to complete the M.C.C. team to tour Australia and New Zealand have been issued to J. Warr, of Middlesex, and C. Washbrook, of Lancashire, subject to medical fitness. Washbrook has been given permission -to fly out and join the team at Adelaide to enable him to complete business arrangements. Denis Compton has been appointed vice-captain of the team. When Washbrook’s name was included among the first 12 chosen last month, he announced he was unable to make the trip because of business commitments. Warr is a right-arm fast medium bowler of considerable promise. He is 23 years of age.
