SCHOOLBOYS’ HOCKEY TEAM FOR N.S.W.

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 26. A New Zealand secondary schoolboys’ hockey team will tour New South Wales during the August term holidays.

The team will leave New Zealand on August 17 for Sydney and is due to return on September 11. Mr. G. S. Cole (Auckland) has been appointed manager. The team will play some matches in Sydney, tour New South Wales and return to Sydney to play more matches. Included in the itinerary is a match against a New South Wales secondary schoolboys’ State side.

The selectors, Messrs. G. S. Cole (Auckland) and E. S. Hobson (Christchurch) announced the team last evening as follows: Goal-keeper. R. N. Thompson (Mount Albert Grammar School); backs, G. L. Chambers (Avondale College), G. R. Scheel (Mount Albert Grammar): half-backs, F. F. Evans (Avondale College), J. C. Abrams (Christchurch Boys’ High School), lan Kerr (Southland Boys’ High School), R. N. Gibson (Papanui Technical College), R. W. Blincoe (Nelson College); forwards, T. I. Crossen (Christchurch 8.H.5.): D. M. Carian (Palmerston North Boys’ High School); N. H. Hobson (Christchurch 8.H.5.), D. E. Watts (King's College), W. D. Jessop (Avondale College), R. A. Calkin (Wanganui Technical College), G. J. Taylor (Westport Technical College).
