UNION LEADER OFFERS REPLY TO MINISTER
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 24. Comment on the statement by the Minister of Labour, Mr. W. Sullivan, concerning the Waikato coal strike was made today by the president of the Northern Miners’ Union, Mr. T. Hall. “The Minister is apparently being fortified by a false sense of legal, security and interpretation," Mr Hall stated. "If the Minister’s concern is sincere on the matter of icgal and lawful significance I would like him to quote any laws under British administration or jurisdiction that permit any person to be tried, convicted and sentenced without that person or his representative having the fullest opportunity to state his case in self-defence.”
