WASHINGTON. July 23,
A senior Defence Department official gave a warning that it might be midautumn or even spring before the United States forces could mount a major counter-offensive. The public should not be discouraged if there were more retreats, he said.
Bigger and more powerful tanks, new anti-tank rocket and land mines were on the way to Korea.
