Chemical Ship Blaze Beals Firemen

LONDON, June' 22,

After fighting a fire for seven hours in the hold of the Elder Dempster cargp ship Fulani, of G 539 tons, in a Liverpool dock, firemen today abandoned their efforts to check it. The authorities decided to let the ship burn herself out and the firemen concentrated on preventin'* the flames spreading to the quayside sheds. The ship is laden with chemicals, including sulphur and machinery. The weight of water pumped into tho Fulani caused her to list dangerously against the quay. Dock 'officials said that if the ship capsized the whole dock system would be blocked.
